. The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard (Verses 1–16)

• The Story: A landowner hires workers throughout the day (at 6:00 AM, 9:00 AM, noon, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM) to work in his vineyard. At the end of the day, he pays everyone the exact same daily wage (one denarius), regardless of how many hours they worked.
• The Conflict: The workers who started earliest complain that it is unfair. The landowner replies that he has cheated no one, agreed to the proper wage for the first group, and has the freedom to be generous with his own resources.----------
• The Meaning: God's grace and salvation cannot be earned through labor, time, or status. Those who come to faith late in life receive the same eternal grace as those who serve a lifetime. Jesus summarizes this with the phrase: "So the last will be first, and the first will be last"//////-----------

a complete misrepresentation of the meaning.        ------------Matthew 20 --------“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard-----.----/////// how does this  very importent statement fit in????
